A card by my kiddo

My little crafting kiddo always makes cards for guys look easy!

She used Stampin Up to make this card for her cousin. I love how simple and neat it is. Good job, Aurora.

Happy crafting!

Another Easy Card

Just another little card that's easy and kiddo friendly. My daughter and I have been working on a lot of thanks and birthday cards lately.

We have been slowly regaining craft supplies since the fire. We have a little tub now! It's not nearly what it was but we have been enjoying making things together again.

This is all Stampin' Up! products. The punch and banner stamps are from the SAB sets. The punch is super cute.

We hope you all have a wonderful day!

Just another easy card

My daughter and I have been working on making cards again. We had quite the on-hand stock before the house burned so it's time to start getting that back.

We have seen several versions of this card and this one is my daughter's. She used all SU! The Birthday greeting was from Sale-a-Bration. Grey, saffron and black.

The part of this that was really fun was layering the stamps to make a patterned paper. Aurora had so many strips and they all looked really neat. She's pretty into making patterns now.

I love crafting with my kiddo. It's fun seeing her be proud of the cards to gives out. :)

Mini Apple Pies as gifts for Thanksgiving

It never fails to make me so proud when my daughter cooks!

Wait, let me back up since that sounded a little less like my feminist self. I don't cook. I have never enjoyed it and it holds nothing for me. You're thinking: "LIZ! Your CAKES!" yes yes, I cake but you should know that I don't bake it. I leave that for my better half. Ladies, you would not want to eat something I cooked.

My wife is an amazing cook and she has been teaching the kiddo for years. I deeply believe that all children, boys and girls, need to learn their way around a kitchen. Why? We all eat, of course! Cooking healthy, fresh food is a life skill and I think every kid needs to learn, at least the basics.

My 12 yr old daughter and mini crafter, Aurora did these as little Thank You gifts for Thanksgiving. She got the idea from her favorite website, Pinterest. Here's the recipe she used: Mini Apple Pies (using a cupcake pan). She's so proud that she did this by herself! They are in food safe containers and placed in these adorable stamped lunch bags that she did. The stamps and ribbon are Stampin' Up!

We hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Undefined - a quick review

Stampin' Up has a new kit called Undefined. It contains the tools you need to carve your very own stamp designs. You can make 4 stamps with the kit. Additional items can be purchased to make more but I bet I can get some rubber for carving with a Michaels coupon too.

Now, dont be shocked that the kit doesn't come with written instruction. There are pictures but I found a google search to be much more helpful. The tools are what you would expect from SU! They are well made and work great.

I hesitated to buy the kit but now I am glad that I did. It was fun to design my own stamps with my daughter.

Snowflake Christmas Card

I made this .svg snowflake card for my Free SVGs blog. After making the file I just had to cut it and give it a try.

The paper and stamps are Stampin' Up.

If you have a Cricut and you aren't following my svg blog, please go have a visit! I use the program Sure Cuts A Lot and I can cut any font or .svg. If you have SCAL 2 you don't even need to make or get svgs. You can trace and cut almost any image right in that program! <3 it!

Happy crafting!

Christmas Countdown Advent Calendar

Finally, I've made a cookie sheet advent calendar! LOL  I've seen these for years. I've always enjoyed the idea.

I needed something to stay in our black & white (with a little red) Christmas color theme so we used this paper from Basic Gray.  I know these colors look unusual for Christmas. Sometime I'll post a picture of our tree and then you'll understand. ;)

Need:
Cookie Sheet - Mine is from the $1 tree. I liked the small size!
Wedding favor tins, you can get these at the craft store/big box store
Magnets
E600 glue
Paper, ribbon, embellishments and glue

This craft is so easy you don't even need directions. Basically scrapbook on the cookie sheet, glue the magnet on the favor tins and you're done!

I used my Cricut Expression to cut my numbers. I use SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) to cute any font with my Cricut. I used Stampin' Up ink, punches and ribbon.

In a third of the tins is candy. In the rest are activities or family games for use do together.

Ideas for activities:
Make and color your own coloring pages.
Make Christmas/Holiday cards.
Family Game (insert your family's favorite).
If you live in an area that isn't freaky cold, a family walk.
Indoor family picnic, blanket and all. Go all out!
Make a special dessert together

I hope you are enjoying the season! Happy crafting!

Thank You Card

I used Stampin' Up inks and cardstock.

I love Halloween and the colors. I'm playing with ways to use those colors for all kinds of little things right now.

Mama  Monkey sent me a Thank You card a while back that looked like this and I loved it. It's such a cute design that I had to try it! She makes adorable cards.

I hope you all are having a great week!

New card

Hey readers! I'm back! *shock face*

My brother and his wife eloped so I needed a simple card to send them congratulations. I picked colors they like and had fun in my scrap bin.

We have a ton of things going on that need crafting: Garden Fairy, Madhatter Tea Party, Pumpkin baby shower... Oh my! So hopefully you will be seeing more of me. :D :D :D

Cards for Men are...

always hard for me. My brother is turning 30 tomorrow and I'm making him a cake after his favorite game. I'll post that when it's done. For now I have this card to share.

He likes green so I ran with it... Manking cards for guys is so much harder for me. Is it like that for you?

Easy earrings

My sweet little neice wanted to make earrings for her mommy. Isn't that too cute?? So we made 2 pair. It's just shrinky dink (the printable kind holds stamping best) and some earring hooks. It's just standard ink and stamps.
Wow you can really see all my earring holes there...

I can not wait to post some cakes. My brother's 30th birthday is next week and then Easter. So hopefully the cakes will come out okay and I will share them with you. :)

Work in Progress: Easter scrapbook layout

Hey crafters. I'm like to work on pages before I have the pictures for them. I know that is weird but I'm not a pro-photographer, if you're a reader you know that. So I pretty much know how my pictures come out and I only take about 75 per every event so I have plenty to choose from. LOL!

How did we survive before digital pictures?!

So here we go, this layout is all Stampin Up. I wanted to see how I'd do using all one brand. I like it. The ribbon and cardstock match so that is a nice change of pace for me.  :)

What do you think?

Peeps in a Box

Hey crafters! Easter is on it's way and I needed some fast and easy little gifts for the adults. Every year we ahve a really small but fun Easter party. We put out eggs over 2 acres and let the little ones have at it. Hopefully this year it won't rain this year and we will get to be outside the whole time.

These tins are from Stampin Up, as is the paper and ink. I have no idea where the rub-on came from to be honest, it was just in my stash. I had to try using a rub-on right onto the clear cover of the tin and I have some advice: Go slow and hold your hand on the back of the lid. It needs support and if you go slow you will avoid slipping.

4 bunny peeps fit perfectly in the tin. I'm all about presentation of little gifts. For some reason that makes me happy. lol

Dry Erase Board

Yay! More stuff! :) Okay so this really awesome lady over at Stamp That had this idea about using the felt flowers on a tile (which makes a really cool little dry erase board). I've seen these tiles made all sorts of way but for some reason the felt flowers just really got me wanting to make one.

So how easy is this? So easy you could do it in your sleep. I've read about people baking the tiles, sealing the tiles ect ect...You know that's not for me. Honestly, I don't do any of that. If you use shiny tiles you don't need to do any of that. Just get the most shiny smooth tile you find on the tile isle and you're good to go.

Ready to make one? It's really just glue dot on embellishments, stamp with staz on and put some felt on the back. I do suggest cleaning the tile with a damp cloth once in a while when changing it. Like any dry erase board they do develop a weird haze after a while and need to be cleaned.

Some info: The tiles I used are 6x6 and are from Lowe's. You can use any size. I use pre-adhesive felt on the back but you can also glue on (I reccomend using e-600 glue) magnets and put this on your fridge. The ink, ribbon and Sweet Pea Felt Flowers are from Stampin Up and you can get them on my online shop.

Friends Card

I used to be totally opposed to stamping flowers and then cutting them out. No offense to anyone but I just thought they looked bland.

So I gave it a shot or two and I will admit - I was wrong. I love this card. I cut it out and then just folded up the petals. I dig it.

Old Pages into Flowers

These have been popping up every where and I just love them. Okay are you ready to make them?

1. Punch out 5 scallop circles.
*Optional: Ink or spray the pages before punching them.
2. Put a brad though all 5 layers.
3. Starting with the layer on top (head of the brad), grab it and scrunch it into the middle. Yes, scrunch is a techinical term lol.
4. Now just do that to the next 3 leaving the bottom one alone.
5. Gently spread the layers back from the center to reveal the brad again. You're done. Stick it to your projects. Isn't that cute?!

Calendar for my purse

You know those cheap $2 planners that are really ugly? I do too. Ew. That means it's time to craft!

Open that thing up and cover the stock image cover with your favorite paper. I hit my scrap bin for this one. The stamp was free from Stampin' Up. I dig the little birdie!

You don't need directions for that. Just go forth and scrapbook on anything that holds still long enough!

Am I making Valentine's stuff already??!

Yes. Dang it. I admit it! Okay!!! I'm a dork and that's just how it is. My daugther's making Pixie Stick heart Valentines for her little classmates. I made this first trial one so see if I got the cut files right.

We use our Cricut to cut svg files we made. I posted it on the svg blog in case you want the heart too.

The tin is from Stampin' Up, as are the ink and stamps. I used a rub-on on the stop of the tin to make it more pretty. The candy on the inside is Hershey's nuggets. All pretty easy stuff. Cut, glue and give!

The pencil can is just scrap paper around a soup can. The little one loves to change the paper on her can for whatever season or holiday is coming up. She got tired of the blue with snowflakes. lol. She's ready for Spring already!

Getting organized - Cards

Hey! Hope you all had a great holiday and new year celebration!

I have been looking for things that were small enough to store/organize my handmade cards in but was cute and cheap. The perfect solution? Make it out of a box. I shame to admit it but the Hambuger Helper box is the perfect size.

I drew a line from the top corner to the point I wanted as the bottom of the slant. Using a ruler, I made a straight line and cut the box. I used the first side I cut to be a template for the other side. Then I just covered it with that awesome paper I had from Archivers and wrapped my favorite Stampin' Up ribbon around it.

I'm going to make a few more of these as I have boxes. I want one for holidays, one for birthday cards and another for misc cards I make (love notes, thank you ect).

Hope you like it!

Easy Christmas Calendar

Okay for those of you who don't know, I do a LOT of crafting with my little daughter, Aurora. She's 8. I'm not sure how that happened so quickly but... I'm dealing with it. lol The other day she wanted to make a countdown calendar (I guess the advent calendar with candy in it wasn't enough). Hehehee!

So it's really just a binder clip, a coaster chipboard thingy and some paper. We printed the numbers out, stamped Dasher (Stampin' Up) and TaDa! It's so easy you don't even need directions but hopefully if you had some of these extra coaster things laying around now you have an idea on how to use one. :)  Merry Christmas!!
