Mickey Birthday Cake

Y'all know I don't make cakes anymore. However, my little friend Spencer is having a party and I made this for him as a gift. Who knows what to buy kids anymore? Surely not I!

He just loves Mickey Mouse Club House. His party was so adorable too! They had the special candles and even a shirt made for him. It rocked.

I made it using Satin Ice fondant. It's an 8" & 6" stacked. All the decoration are fondant. The ears you have to do in advance, as they need time to dry, and toothpicked in place.

Thank you for stopping by my craft and crap blog. :) I hope you have a great new year!!

Rainbow Dash Party - Part 3 with Downloads!

For your Rainbow Dash needs. ;)

Download the water bottle labels are here.

Also here are the images that I used for some of the party stuff:

Here is the mini candy bar label.

We printed the "Take some party with you" images on white lunch bags using this tutorial.

Also I added the banner I made for her party. The finished one for my kiddo has her name on it too. I added the letters in white circles using paint shop. It's super easy. Google for tutorials.

I hope you enjoy these free printables! :)

Rainbow Dash Birthday Party - Part 2

Earlier I shared my daughter's Rainbow Dash 3D cake. So, today I want to share the pins, ideas and stuff from her food table. She turned 12 and she picked everything. She was excited to get to do so much and come up with ideas.

She asked for a tiny party with just a few people. There was a lot of candy and food left over but who cares!? It was so fun and easy. Small parties are where it's at.

The Rainbow Dash Dessert Table:
Chocolate dipped oreos, rolled in rainbow sprinkles.
Pixie Stix, Rainbow Twizzlers, Smarties, rainbow gummy worms, cookies, Trix Crispies, gumballs and swirl pops.

My daughter also wanted to add some pony treats, so she chose apple sauce and apple donuts.

Do you think that was enough sweets for a small party? Hahaha!

Rainbow Dash MLP Cake

My daughter is heavy into Rainbow Dash, you know, from My Little Pony.

She was so sweet when we were making this cake. She said not to stress it. If it didn't work out we could make it into a hill and put a little figure of Dash on top!
I love how accepting she is. She made all the hair for this cake by herself!

For this cake we baked 3 round chocolate 6" cakes and we used RKT. You could use the Wonder Mold pan too. I basically carved her body down to that shape anyway.

The head and front legs are RKT skewered in place. Coming up, printables and more from her Rainbow Dash Party!

Monster High Party Post - Round 1

My daughter is turning 11!
So I have a huge shock for you. Huge. Are you sitting down? She wanted a Monster High party. Not at all like every other girl her age. LOL
We have already been to 2 this year. It's what most of the girls around here are into. The store decorations are good and all but here's the first post about our added DIY stuffs for her Monster High party.

I used $1 store plastic fangs and left over spray paint, given to me by a friend. 2 coats are needed in my opinion. I made the labels using Word, with a Skullette image I found here. The font I choose is Andalus.

I'm off to try more fun craft ideas for this party. See ya soon with more. :)

Cupcake Liner Party Decor

Everyone's seen these cute little tutorials on cupcake liner party decor and I just had to try it!
The ones I've seen keep saying to put hot glue on the liner then press it into the styrofoam ball... that's all fine and dandy but I just cant do it without burning myself! Ugh! So, here's my how-to non finger burning style (for those of you who are clumsy like me). lol

Start with a styrofoam ball, pins, a hot glue gun and cupcake liners. I'm using liners from Micheals. I just love the polka dot liners!!

I put one pin in one liner (some people put a pin through 2 or 3 liners together for a fuller look). put a dab of hot glue on the head of the pin and set it aside to dry. Once it's cooled off simply smoosh (that's a highly technical term), roll or curls them up the way you like and press them into the ball.

I'm going to put these on the back of the treat buffet at a party coming up.

Happy Crafting!
